Cookie policy for Fishandspins
Start playingThis page explains how Fishandspins uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our site. A cookie is a small text file your browser stores so the site can remember something about your visit — that you're logged in, which language you picked, or that you've already dismissed the cookie banner.
How this site remembers you
We rely on a small set of necessary cookies to keep the site working: they hold your session while you're signed in, remember your currency setting, and carry security tokens that stop a session being hijacked. These load automatically and can't be switched off without breaking core functions like staying logged in.
Alongside these, a preference cookie stores small choices — language, whether you've seen the welcome banner — so you're not asked again on every page.
| Cookie type | What it does |
|---|---|
| Necessary | Session, login state, security tokens — always on |
| Preference | Language and display choices you've already made |
| Analytics | Aggregated usage patterns, loaded only with consent |
| Marketing | Ad measurement and retargeting, loaded only with consent |
The analytics question
Analytics cookies tell us which pages get read and where people drop off — nothing that identifies you by name. They only load once you've accepted them in the cookie banner; declining analytics doesn't stop the site working, it just means we lose that page-level picture. Marketing cookies work the same way and sit behind the same consent switch.
Scripts we do not control
Some elements on the page — embedded videos, payment provider widgets, or a live chat window — are served from third-party domains rather than ours. Those providers set their own cookies under their own policies, and we don't have visibility into, or control over, what they log. Where a third-party script isn't essential to the page loading, it sits behind the same consent banner as our analytics cookies.
Your options for managing cookies
You can accept, decline, or adjust categories the first time our banner appears, and revisit that choice at any time through your browser's site settings. Every major browser also lets you clear or block cookies at a wider level:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking necessary cookies through your browser will usually stop you staying logged in between pages — that's a browser-level effect, not something our banner controls.
Revisions to this policy
We update this page when the cookies we use change, and the version live on the site is always the current one. There's no separate notification list — check back here if you want to see what's changed.
